Gerry Edwards FRICS, CHort, MCIHort is a well known horticulturalist and fruit specialist with many years of experience and is Chairman of the Royal Horticultural Society's Fruit Group, a Vice Chairman of the Royal Horticultural Society's Fruit, Vegetable and Herb Committee and a member of the Royal Horticultural Society's Fruit Trials Forum. Gerry was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious Veitch Memorial Medal in 2018 to recognise outstanding service to horticulture. Gerry is also Chairman of the UK Orchard Network.
Gerry is a Chartered Horticulturalist, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture and a Member of the Garden Media Guild.
Gerry is an experienced horticultural judge with specialities in fruit and vegetables and has won ten Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medals for displays of top fruit at the Royal Horticultural Halls at Westminster in London. Gerry judges fruit nationally for the Royal Horticultural Society, provides fruit judging training and is a qualified National Vegetable Society judge. Gerry is also a Fellow of the National Vegetable Society.
Gerry is a published writer on many fruit related subjects and regularly speaks to groups of all types on both fruit growing and fruit judging. He has recently published a new book titled "Getting Started With Growing Fruit".

As one of the few experts in the country with the knowledge to identify apples Gerry takes part in many "Apple Days" and "Apple Weekends" over the country indentifying apples brought in by the public and also undertakes individual identifications.
